NAATI certification
What is a NAATI-certified translation?
It is an official translation completed by a translator accredited by NAATI, the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters, Australia's accreditation body for translators and interpreters. The translation bears an official stamp and certification recognised by the Department of Home Affairs for Australian immigration applications and is also accepted in New Zealand. Driving licences are the only exception: to be valid in New Zealand, the translation must be NZTA-certified.
Is a NAATI translation recognised in both Australia and New Zealand?
Yes. NAATI certification is the standard required in Australia and is also accepted in New Zealand, except for driving licences. A driving licence translation intended for use in New Zealand must be NZTA-certified. I offer this service as part of the €52 Australia and New Zealand driving licence package, in partnership with an NZTA-certified translator based in Auckland.
What is the difference between a NAATI translation and a French sworn translation?
A French sworn translation is intended for use with French authorities, whereas a NAATI-certified translation is intended for Australian and New Zealand authorities. As I am no longer registered as a sworn translator with a French Court of Appeal, my translations are not recognised for official procedures in France. They are valid for use in Australia and New Zealand.
Why not use a free online translator?
A machine translation has no official value and will be rejected for visa applications, driving licence requirements and civil-status documents. Only a translation completed and certified by an accredited translator carries the professional accountability recognised by government authorities. This is precisely what NAATI certification guarantees.

How much does a driving licence translation cost?
The Australia and New Zealand driving licence package costs a fixed price of €52. It includes a NAATI-certified translation valid in Australia and an NZTA-certified translation for New Zealand, completed by my certified partner in Auckland. Both PDF versions are included. If you are travelling to Australia only, the NAATI translation costs €26.
How much do other documents cost?
One-page official documents, including birth, marriage, civil partnership and death certificates, police certificates, diplomas and academic transcripts, cost €26 per page. For applications containing several documents or longer documents, request a personalised quote. It is free, with no obligation, and sent within one business day.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Payment can be made by bank transfer, debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Wero. Payment instructions are provided with your quote, and an invoice is issued for every translation.
Turnaround times
How long does a translation take?
Driving licences are translated and certified within one business day. For other documents, the usual turnaround time is two to five business days, depending on the volume. The exact delivery date will always be confirmed in your quote.
What if my request is very urgent?
Please mention this in your initial message. Depending on my availability, I can often prioritise urgent requests. For particularly tight deadlines, calling me directly is the best option.
Delivery & documents
How will I receive my translation?
You will receive the certified PDF version by email, which is accepted for most online procedures. A stamped original can also be sent by post upon request, although this is rarely necessary.
My document is handwritten or in poor condition. Is that a problem?
Not necessarily. Send me the document as it is. If any section is illegible, I will let you know before starting the translation. The most important thing is to provide the clearest possible scan or photograph.
Will my documents remain confidential?
Absolutely. Your documents are handled with strict confidentiality and are never shared with third parties. Confidentiality is one of the professional and ethical obligations associated with my accreditation.
